How to Use the InPen with Gluroo

Gluroo integrates with InPen on iOS devices by reading insulin data directly from Apple Health. This allows your InPen doses to appear automatically in your Gluroo log, helping you keep track of your active insulin alongside your other diabetes data.

For iOS Users

To connect InPen to Gluroo, you must enable Apple Health permissions in both the Gluroo app and the InPen app.

Enable Apple Health in the InPen App

Ensure InPen is writing its data to Apple Health.

  1. Open the InPen App.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap Connections.
  4. Tap Apple Health.
  5. Tap Turn All Categories On.
  6. Tap Allow in the upper right corner.

Enable Apple Health in Gluroo

Tell Gluroo to look for data in Apple Health:

  1. Open Gluroo.
  2. Tap Menu (the hamburger icon) > Settings.
  3. Tap Apple Health.
  4. Toggle on Enable Apple Health Integration. (Note: You may be prompted by iOS to allow Gluroo to read specific data types. Ensure you allow Gluroo to “Read” Insulin Delivery.)

Wait 15-20 minutes after your next dose in the InPen app to see if it is synced into Gluroo. If you still don’t see any doses, please write in to us via the Help menu (Menu > Help > “@ Email help@gluroo.com”).

For Android Users

Currently, the InPen Android app does not write data into Google Health Connect (GHC). Because Gluroo relies on Health Connect to read data from third-party apps on Android, automatic integration with InPen is not currently possible on this platform.

We are monitoring this closely. If you notice that InPen has added support for Google Health Connect, please email us at support@gluroo.com so we can update our integration to support it as soon as possible.
