1.5.13 – Bottom tabs + light visual facelift, Menstrual cycle tracking, data export and more!

In this release, we reduce reliance on the menu by introducing bottom tabs:

  • There is a new set of bottom tabs for switching between the Log (the main display in 1.4 and earlier) and Stats, Meals, Chart, and Status.
  • Now that there is a Stats tab, the Log no longer has the closable stats cards at the bottom of it.  You have to use the Stats tab and can rearrange the cards on that screen. You can also use the DDS chart on the stats tab (see the next item) to see chart + stats.
  • The Drop Down Status for the IOB/FOB tray and the Chart still open off of the header areas, and now those two overlays are available on *all* five of those tabs.  The chart is still pinnable on the Logs screen, but only on the logs screen.
  • The Meals Tab is a still improved version of Menu > Insights > Day by day (and is no longer available under “Insights”).
  • The new Status Tab shows both the IOB/FOB detail calculation as well as the device information, expiries, etc.
  • The menu no longer has Chart or (Device Status), and if you are in a GluCrew by yourself, the “GluCrew” entry is also gone.  You can add to your GluCrew via Menu > Settings > General “GluCrew”
  • As you scroll back in the log, the entry text input now disappears (and quickly comes back if you scroll the opposite direction towards “now”).  You still see the 5 bottom tabs in compact form (no labels), and you get a larger (+) Plus menu button for tap-based logging.

This release also has a modest visual change: the background of the header is now black (or dark grey in dark mode) to provide higher contrast, and the IOB/FOB numbers are bigger and bolder and higher contrast directly on the black background instead of on a Goldenrod/Blue pill. The primary user avatar is now at the left, and the layout of the items is better spread out while keeping the header compact. Throughout Gluroo, BGL numbers are now displayed in a more distinctive and accessible font.

In the log, the Date is now moved to the far right to be closer to where the times show.

and there are now explanations for some of the compact headers shown at the top of the log:

This release does also have a handful of great new features.  These include:

  • Menstrual cycle tracking.  This shows up as a new Menu > Setting > Menstrual Cycle Tracking for Primary Users who have selected Female or Other for their gender.  The settings can be used to customize your typical cycle, and there is a new Plus button option to log periods and new period reminders that will show in your log based on your cycle settings.  Your period status also shows on the digital dosing table and on the new Status screen.
  • Easier to understand medicine reminders that make it easier to log the medicine at the reminder time, now, or skip it.
  • You can now export your data: Menu > Insights > Export data will let you send a CSV (Comma-Separated-Values) file to your email address.  See https://gluroo.com/support/faqs/#advanced-uses for details of the format, and note that this is rate limited to keep our database happy, so only use it as needed.
  • The Landscape-orientation Chart screen is now accessible from anywhere just by turning your phone sideways.  Turning it back portrait gets you back to where you were.
  • The search functionality works a lot better, and importantly, when showing filter/search results, you now can long-press on message items to operate on them using the regular context menu (e.g., to remove the items, change their time, etc.)
  • When you take a camera photo and then open Gluroo within a few minutes, as always (as long as you’ve approved the permission) the photo shows up at the bottom of the screen and makes it easy to select to add to your log.  What’s new is that when you select it, that photo goes through the AI vision analysis the same way it would if you took the photo inside Gluroo.  This makes it easy to support a workflow where you use your regular camera app before logging that meal photo into Gluroo.
  • The chart screen now has separate time range and BGL range settings from the drop-down sliding chart display.  You can configure them independently.

And as usual, there are a bunch of performance enhancements and various bugfixes. Please keep letting us know if something doesn’t seem right to you!
