We just submitted a new version of Gluroo (2.2.12) to the App and Play stores and it will be rolling out soon. This version has a fundamental framework change in how we synchronize CGM values between our cloud services and the mobile app. Early indications are positive in that it decreases network usage, improves battery life, and reduces server load. At launch the new code is mostly turned off and we will experiment with turning it on over time.
This release also has the following changes and new features:
- Eversense CGMs are now experimentally supported via a circle FOLLOWER account using the Eversense DMS (Diabetes Management System) cloud service. Be sure you create a circle and follower account, share to that follower account, and provide Gluroo with that follower account. Note that twiist integration users using Eversense should NOT change to this integration… the twiist integration continues to work with whatever CGM is paired to the twiist pump. The new Eversense integration is ONLY for when you’re using Eversense without twiist.
- The Drop-Down-Status (DDS) tray (both BG Chart and IOB/FOB) can now be opened from any screen (you used to have to be on the main screen with bottom tabs for them to work – now you can be on Menu > Settings, Menu > Insights, etc.)
- The IOB/FOB Tray calculation on the Status page and via the Drop-Down-Status tray when you tap the header’s IOB/FOB numbers now takes into account any carbs up to 25 minutes in the future. This helps with the common case where you prebolus insulin with food that you’re logging in the future (some integrations incorporate this delay of the food automatically but if you log “15g in 10min” you’ll see similar behavior).
- The Wear OS Gluroo Watch app has a new IOB/FOB Tray-like calculation of eventual blood glucose Tile. It has also been updated for newer versions of Wear OS and to comply with Play store policies. There are some bug fixes and minor visual changes, too.
- Menu > Settings > GluCrew > Primary User now has a Profile screen to let you update their age, their onboarding health condition, etc.
- The Heads Up Display (HUD) has a new “Dim/Regular” icon on the top right that lets it go even dimmer in a dark room when brightness is already at its lowest setting.
- New icons for the bottom nav bar to try to make Status and Charts/Stats stand out a bit better.
