Gluroo 2.3.26 – Apple Watch App, Dexcom G7 on Your Phone, AI Assistants, Alexa & More

We submitted a new version of Gluroo (2.3.26) to the App and Play stores, and it will roll out over the next few days. All of the new features below are highly experimental, and we need your feedback. Tell us what you think in the Gluroo Facebook user group or at help@gluroo.com.

Features marked rolling out gradually are turned on for more accounts over time. If one of them isn’t in your app yet, it hasn’t reached your account. Write to help@gluroo.com if you’d like to try it sooner.

New

  • Apple Watch app. Open Gluroo right on your Apple Watch to see your CGM charts at different time scales and to log food, insulin, intervention snacks, and fingerstick values. There are new watch complications too, including FOB/IOB. Install it from the phone app’s Menu (“Install Gluroo Watch”), which walks you through it step by step. Menu > Settings > Watch now lets you choose between the watch app and the Contact complication; they work independently, and you can use both. For the most real-time watch face we still recommend the Contact complication.
  • Dexcom G7, ONE+ and Stelo on the same phone, without Dexcom Follow. If your G7, ONE+ or Stelo sensor is paired with its Dexcom app on your iPhone or Android phone, Gluroo on that phone can now receive readings over Bluetooth each time the sensor sends one, with no internet connection needed. When you’re online, Gluroo uploads each reading right away so the rest of your GluCrew sees it quickly. On that phone, Gluroo’s own displays (and widgets and Wear OS on Android) update even when you’re offline. Turn it on in Menu > Settings > Direct Dexcom G7 (BLE). Keep the Dexcom app (G7, ONE+ or Stelo) installed and paired: Gluroo listens alongside it and never replaces it. This is different from the G7 connecting directly to an Apple Watch.
  • Connect AI assistants (experimental). Let Claude, ChatGPT, Meta Muse and other AI assistants read your GluCrew’s Gluroo data, so you can ask things like “how did my glucose do after pizza last week?” or “what was my time in range this month?”. Add Gluroo as a custom connector in the assistant, sign in to Gluroo, pick your GluCrew and approve; step-by-step instructions are at app.gluroo.com/ai. Assistants can only read your data, not log anything. Menu > Settings > Other Integrations > AI Assistants (MCP) lists every connected assistant and lets you disconnect it, and everyone in the GluCrew sees a message when someone connects one. Remember, Gluroo does not provide medical advice, and neither do these assistants.
  • Alexa skill (experimental). This works with classic Alexa, not Alexa+. In Gluroo, go to Menu > Settings > Show CGM On… > Alexa Voice and tap “Connect Alexa”. Then ask: “Alexa, ask my kangaroo what’s my blood sugar?” (Use your own wake word if it’s different.) For now Alexa answers questions about your CGM, insulin on board, and food on board. Logging by voice through Alexa is not available yet. If connecting fails, Gluroo now tells you why, and offers to send troubleshooting logs to our support team.
  • Much better Siri support on iPhone. Ask for your status, log entries by voice (including for someone else in your GluCrew), and undo mistakes. You also get Siri suggestions, Control Center controls, and Siri on Apple Watch. Siri AI (Apple Intelligence, on iPhone 15 Pro and later running iOS 27) gets extra capabilities. See Menu > Settings > Siri & Voice.
  • Ask Roo (experimental). A health AI chat (Menu > “@Roo Coach”) that can also answer help and support questions about Gluroo. Remember, Gluroo does not provide medical advice.
  • MiniMed (Medtronic) CareLink. For Simplera, Guardian 4, and 780G users, Gluroo can now follow your CareLink account from our servers, so you don’t need to sign in to CareLink on your phone. The wearer’s MiniMed app still has to upload to CareLink as usual. A care partner account is recommended; patient accounts also work. If you pick a Medtronic 780G or 770G pump in Settings, Gluroo now points you straight to CareLink setup.
  • Eversense, now more reliable (experimental). Gluroo follows your Eversense CGM through the Eversense DMS cloud, using an Eversense follower account: create a circle in Eversense, share to the follower account, and give Gluroo that follower account’s sign-in (Menu > Settings > CGM > Eversense (DMS follow)). This release fixes bad readings and follow problems we found since it first appeared in 2.2.12. If you use Eversense with a twiist pump, keep using the twiist integration instead.
  • Backup CGM fetching from your phone (experimental). If our servers fall behind fetching your CGM, the app may fetch the latest value itself from Dexcom or LibreLinkUp. This keeps your numbers current and helps spot problems such as a changed password.

Improved

  • Apple Health workouts are back (iPhone). Workouts from Apple Health are recorded in your Log again, with their durations. Gluroo had stopped asking for permission to read workouts, and sent only your most recent workout. If Gluroo never asked you for workout access, it asks once now. Workouts from the past week that were missed are added, and earlier workouts that were missing a duration get it filled in.
  • See what Gluroo can read from Apple Health (iPhone). Menu > Settings > Connections > Apple Health now shows, for workouts, steps, heart rate, sleep, blood glucose and carbs, the latest entry Gluroo can see. If something says “Nothing found”, it walks you through turning that category on in the Health app, with buttons to open the Health app and check again. (iPhone doesn’t tell apps when you’ve turned off read access, so this is the way to find out.)
  • CGM readings from Apple Health are no longer logged as fingersticks. If a CGM app writes to Apple Health (for example Shuggo, AiDEX, LibreWrist, Eversense 365 or Ottai), Gluroo now recognizes it as a CGM by how often it writes readings, and treats its values as CGM readings instead of fingerstick entries. The “Always treat Apple Health blood glucose entries as fingerprick readings” checkbox is gone, since Gluroo now works this out on its own.
  • Readings from CGM app notifications on Android. If Gluroo reads your glucose from your CGM app’s notification on Android (for example CamAPS FX, or the Dexcom app), readings and trend arrows from that notification work again. They had stopped arriving from some apps’ notifications. Gluroo now also learns each app’s trend arrows on its own, so it should keep working when those apps change how their notifications look. This is experimental: if your readings or arrows look wrong, tell us at help@gluroo.com.
  • Fewer Omnipod 5 messages during a pod change. The Omnipod 5 app sends a burst of conflicting notifications while you change a pod. Gluroo now waits a few seconds for things to settle, so your GluCrew sees one “pump suspended” message (and one when it resumes) instead of several, with fewer mode-change messages and notifications.
  • Food logging. It now uses Photo, Describe, and Favorites, inspired by our cousin app FlashSnack. Tap Meal in the Plus menu to start; the Favs button jumps straight to your favorite meals. Prefer the classic logger with grams per item? Long-press Meal. If you only use Gluroo for food and nutrition, try FlashSnack at https://go.getflashsnack.com.
  • Nutrition goes to Apple Health and Health Connect. If you’re the primary user, the nutrition of meals you log is now written to Apple Health or Google Health Connect. If you already sync with either one, Gluroo will ask once for permission to write. This is experimental.
  • Tandem: “Also sync CGM readings from my pump.” This is an experimental option, mainly for Tandem + Libre users. Readings are usually not real-time because your pump uploads to Tandem only periodically. Connecting Sugarmate to your Tandem account once may make it upload more often. This isn’t well tested yet, so tell us how it works for you.
  • Plus menu tour. The first time you open the Plus menu, a short guided tour explains each button for your own CGM and insulin setup.
  • BG Meter Reminders are always in Settings. Menu > Settings > Medical > BG Meter Reminders used to appear only if you had picked a BG meter, so CGM users couldn’t set fingerstick reminders. Now everyone can.
  • Collapsible Settings. Tap a section’s chevron to collapse it into one-line summaries. “Collapse all” and “Expand all” are at the bottom of the page.
  • Easier re-authentication. The periodic security sign-in is now one “Re-authenticate” button instead of signing out and back in.
  • Always-on CGM display. Live Activity improvements on iPhone and Apple Watch.
  • Offline banner. When you’re offline, the banner no longer covers the header, since Direct Dexcom G7 can keep your numbers current without the internet. For the same reason, your glucose and IOB/FOB are no longer greyed out just because the server connection is down; old readings still fade with age.
  • Better translations. We fixed hundreds of mistranslated or untranslated words and labels across 23 languages. Apple Health and Health Connect now keep their English names everywhere.
  • Profile photos. Taking a profile photo with the camera works reliably again, and you can now crop and zoom a photo from your library to frame your face.
  • Other polish. “My Profile” in the GluCrew switcher now opens the primary user’s profile. The subheader is always available. The heads-up display can go darker. Expand and collapse chevrons now point the other way. Settings > Show CGM On… now offers to ask for notification permission if it’s missing. Editing a barcode entry from the Log now shows the package photo. Warnings sent to the whole GluCrew (for example, an integration that needs you to sign in again, and when it reconnects) are now also recorded in the GluCrew’s event log. “GluCrew” is spelled consistently. In Help & Support, example questions now scroll sideways so there’s more room for your conversation. A new splash screen, and fixes for several crashes, for twiist readings, for an entry showing twice after you changed its time, and for Ask Roo stacking extra “New conversation” lines when you reset it.
