Founder Bio

Greg Badros, PhD — Founder & CEO

Greg Badros founded Gluroo in August 2020 after his then-7-year-old son, Jax, was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes. Frustrated by existing apps that didn’t allow families to easily interact and collaborate around real-time data, Greg decided to build the solution himself.

Greg is a highly respected engineering leader in Silicon Valley. Prior to founding Gluroo, he served as VP of Engineering & Products at Facebook (Meta) from 2009 to 2013, leading teams across Ads, Search, Photos, and Messages. Before that, he spent over six years at Google as a Senior Director of Engineering, leading AdSense and Gmail. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics and Computer Science from Duke University, and earned his Master’s and PhD in Computer Science and Engineering from the University of Washington. His PhD work on the Cassowary Constraint Solving algorithm remains an integral part of Apple’s iOS and macOS to this day.
