OnePlus Watch 2 Support with Gluroo

(Note that this same issue may apply to the Mobvoi TicWatch (Pro) watches as well.)

(2nd Note: The OnePlus Watch 3 appears to work great with Gluroo and our Watch Face Format (WFF) watchface so these notes do not apply to the OnePlus Watch 3.)

You can show your CGM data on a One Plus Watch 2, but that watch does *not* support the full Wear OS WFF “Gluroo CGM Watchface” directly. This is a limitation of the OnePlus Watch, not of Gluroo: OnePlus has chosen to prioritize battery life over watchface flexibility, and we understand why you might choose to make the same decision.

(If you’re using other Wear OS watches, see our general instructions for using Gluroo with your Wear OS watch.

To see your Glucose levels with Gluroo on the OnePlus Watch 2 you can do either or both of the following:

  1. Use the Gluroo Tile.
    • First install the Gluroo Watch app on your watch. From the Gluroo App on your phone, use Menu > Settings > Watch (3rd rightmost tab) and select “Install Watch App”. (You do NOT need to install the Gluroo CGM Watchface app, only the Gluroo Watch app.)
    • Then on the phone’s OHealth app (the app that you use to configure the OnePlus Watch), scroll down to “Tiles” and tap that. Then look for the Gluroo Tile in the set of tiles at the bottom and choose it.
    • We recommend you reorder the tiles to make the Gluroo app the leftmost one, so it’s the first one shown when you swipe left on the watchface of your OnePlus watch.
  2. Use the Gluroo Data Complications with a supported OnePlus watchface that has some complication slots
    • E.g., choose the “Modules” watchface from the list of installed watchfaces and “Set as my watchface”.
    • Then tap “Customize,” and select Complication 1 and Complication 2
    • For each of those complications, you will have to scroll to the bottom of the list and tap to expand “Third-party complications.” Tap “Continue” through the warning about high battery usage and then scroll down to “BGL via Gluroo” for Complication 1, and possibly “IOB via Gluroo” for Complication 2. These are your choices.
    • Tap “Done” in the top right.

Note that you don’t have to use the Modules watchface — that’s just an example. The “Arc” watchface supports several range complications and some small text complications and works well, too.

We’d love to hear from you at help@gluroo.com with your suggestions for favorite watchfaces for OnePlus watches. In particular, we would love to find one that supports the SMALL_IMAGE complication type to enable these watches to show your CGM chart.
