1.5.149 – Dexcom 15d Support, Speaking Blood Glucose Readings, Apple Watch Live Activities, Better and Faster Updates!

We submitted a new version of Gluroo (1.5.149) to the App and Play stores. This is mostly a bugfix release, but we made some significant framework and build infrastructure changes under the hood, so please be on the lookout for new problems. Those improvements give us a better foundation for future work and pay down some technical debt. Some of the new features and bugfixes include:

  • Apple watch now shows better display of the Live Activity (Always on CGM display), including with a chart.
  • The HeadsUpDisplay screen now has a switch to let you turn on the speaking of blood sugar numbers (via text to speech) as they come in.
  • Dexcom G7 15 day sensors are supported (just a change to our understanding of the expiry date – we don’t yet recognize which sensors are 15d, but if you select G7 15d we calculate expiry properly for reminders, etc.)
  • Higher contrast text in the chart images included in notifications (both Android and iOS)
  • Reduced the default size of text messages in the Gluroo Event Log.  These were a fair bit larger than the rest of the UI and we already have a “Large” text display setting option, so we decided to shrink this text a little bit to increase information density for users who’ve asked for that.
  • Android Widgets can now be configured independently to choose the Primary User’s data to show – long press on a Widget to select the Primary User (only if you’re a member of multiple GluCrews).  Note that we also removed the long-deprecated not-resizable widgets (only the Sparkline widget is now available and it can be resized). IMPORTANT: if you were using the deprecated widget you need to remove that and switch to the new resizable one.
  • Android Widgets refresh better.
  • Live activities reliability improved for some cases, better refresh of login, better handling of some errors.  We’re still improving this.
  • Reminder/alert sounds turn off when opening Gluroo now (you don’t need to interact with the app)
  • Bugfixes for editing meal entries, some edge cases around meal nutrition analysis, lots of visual tweaks and polish, some synchronization improvements.
  • Now available in Turkish (machine-translated)
